How the Nonprofit Support Fee impacts users

Percent Pledge's Nonprofit Support Fee funds nonprofit verification, instant tax receipts, secure disbursements, reporting transparency, compliance, and ongoing access to new donors.

Our Nonprofit Support Fee is 2.3%, the lowest fee in our industry. 

 This fee funds the nonprofit infrastructure behind workplace giving, including:

What can Percent Pledge users expect?

The 2.3% fee is fully transparent and clearly shown during the donation process. 

When a user donates, they’ll see:

  • Their donation amount
  • The Nonprofit Support Fee
  • Standard payment processing fees

All fees are clearly itemized in the donation flow.

Does this fee mean Percent Pledge charges nonprofits?

No! Nonprofits do not pay to be listed or participate. The fee only applies when a donation is processed and nonprofit services are provided.

Can I cover the fee so 100% of my gift goes to the nonprofit?

Yes. You can choose to cover fees when you donate. The “cover fees” toggle is on by default for convenience, and you can turn it off at any time.

What are payment processing fees? Are these new?

Payment processing fees are not new. They are standard fees required for any online card or ACH transaction. We are now showing them more transparently and giving users the option to cover them.

How much are payment processing fees?

Stripe and Plaid, our integrated payment processors, take:

  • 2.2% + $0.30 on Credit/Debit card donations

  • 0.08% on Bank/ACH donations

Who charges the payment processing fees?

These fees are charged by our third-party payment processors (Stripe/Plaid), not Percent Pledge. They are standard for any digital transaction.
